Are You Kidding Me???

On our drive home to Pullman we had an incident with some kind of large bird. Thank goodness Curtis was driving and not me at the time. But Curtis said he saw some kind of bird that he said looked like a chicken (LOL) flying really low but in his mind he thought no way would it come our direct way. But sure enough it did and hit directly in the driver's seat windshield. The bird didn't break the glass completely but there was some glass on our dashboard. Everyone was fine just a little shaken from it all.

What are the odds of this happening? We can't report the status of this bird but lets just put it this way there were feathers still stuck to the windshield. We are thankful to God that everyone was fine and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Just another story to add to the Allen family journey:)

Happy 88th Birthday Grandma!!!

My Grandma Kathryn turned 88 this past Saturday. We got to spend some time with her this weekend. I have to say it is the hardest thing to watch the ones you love so dearly age. But even though Grandma is getting very weak I still got to see a glimpse of her spunky personality throughout the visit.

I think she had a good time watching the boys play and entertain her.

Here are a few pictures from the afternoon...

My Grandma has been such a special person in my life. I love her dearly. Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Trey's First Visit To The Zoo:)

While we were up in Tacoma this past weekend we decided to take Trey and Victor to the Woodland Park Zoo. As many of you know during our high school and college years Curtis and I loved going to the zoo. But we got to experience the zoo as a family for the first time. Lets just say a little different experience...

I would say about 10 minutes upon arriving to the zoo Trey threw up all over his stroller while his tube feeding was going. After cleaning up for about 20 minutes Curtis and I looked at each other like maybe we should turn around but like all parents you adjust and move on. So glad we did because it turned out to be a great outing.

Here are some pictures from the day...

Trey loved seeing a real life giraffe.

Trey "What are they looking at mommy?"

Victor and a Komodo Dragon.

Half way during our visit Curtis and I felt like this :)

Taking a break.

We spent quite a bit of time at the gorilla exhibit. Funny little story we had there. The boys were right up by the glass and Trey and Victor didn't see but out of the corner came the huge silver back male. He made his way right up to the glass where the boys were. He was huge!!! Victor let out a huge gasp and hid behind Curtis and I and little Trey grabbed onto us for dear life.

Curtis and I were totally exhausted by the end but we had a great time with the boys.

WSU BOUND!!!!

This past weekend we drove up to Tacoma for my brother's high school graduation party. I can't believe my little brother is on his way to college.

I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked but here are a just a few...

Sanna Court BBQ

This past weekend one of the neighbors on our new block hosted a BBQ at their house. We had a great time. Curtis and the rest of the coaches were putting on a basketball camp at the college so he had to miss most of the festivities.

The weather held out for us which was wonderful. Trey had an amazing time playing with all the toys and the other children there. He was definitely ready for bed that evening after all the afternoon activity.

Trey and his new girlfriend:)

We had a wonderful time and we are loving our new neighborhood. We feel so blessed to have found the perfect fit for our family.

Kathy one of our new neighbors who hosted the BBQ took some amazing shots of the little man.

Playdate With Cousins:)

A couple weeks before we moved my cousin Sarah and her little boys Reagan and Campbell were visiting from Washington DC. Sarah was visiting her side of the family in Spokane so we decided to meet up with them after Trey's feeding therapy.

We got to meet the newest addition little Campbell for the first time. So adorable and the most content baby ever.

Trey had a great time playing with Reagan and all the toys they had there. We wish they lived closer!!!

Our Little Sunshine

This past weekend we had some amazing warm weather here in Pullman. Trey loved being outside and playing in his new backyard.

Curtis and I got him this fun pool to use for the summer.

Can you tell who picked this out??

We didn't get everything assembled because it took forever to blow all the pieces up with our small air pump. I got fired from the job at one point when we realized I was deflating the air out of the pool instead of inflating it. Leave it to me:) But once we got the main pieces blown up Trey had a great time. He could of played in the water for hours if we let him.

You might see in some of the pictures Trey's g-tube. As I was watching Trey splash in the pool I was thinking oh my goodness if we still had the NG tube taped to his face how difficult these fun summer activities would be. That is one more reason we are so happy with our decision to place the feeding tube.

As far as a Trey feeding update: Trey is gaining weight wonderfully. He has finally made it to the 10% for weight, 20% for height and 65% for that head of his. Huge change from being like negative 0% for weight. So placing the g-tube has been successful as far as Trey tolerating his tube feedings.

Eating for Trey has decreased greatly in the last couple of weeks. I think and I am hoping that it has been the change with moving and the fact that the poor little guy is working on 6 teeth coming in at once. OUCH!!! I probably wouldn't want to eat either. So we keep trying and working with the little man.

I can't believe our little boy is 18 months already. Time is going by so fast but we are loving every moment of it:)
