Hawaiian Paradise!!!

It was so nice to have the beach right off our hotel. I have to say there is nothing like Hawaiian beaches for me.

Trey also had his first experience with the sand and ocean this vacation also. I figured that he might not be fond of the sand at first because he struggles with different textures on his hands or feet at times. He was very hesitant walking in the sand at first.



But after he got his feet in the water he was in heaven. He LOVED jumping the waves!!! He kept saying "More" "More". He eventually had sand everywhere and it didn't seem to bother him.

Hard working Curtis was able to join us one afternoon. It was so nice to have him take over because my back was killing me.



We are glad our little man loves the beach as much as we do. We had such a good time as a family:)

Trey got to experience his first time in a pool this vacation. I wasn't sure how Trey was going to like this new adventure since you never can tell with this little guy. Trey had his buddy Chelsea come with him. Daddy couldn't come until later because he was at practice :(


Mommy's paradise



At first Trey was not a big fan of the pool. I think he just needed to get adjusted to the colder water. Within about 5 minutes he was trying to be a little fish. He loved splashing and kept trying to get me to let go of him. There was lots of tears when it was time to leave. So glad he loves the water:)

Trey's Girlfriends:)

Trey absolutely loves Coach Bone's daughters. Trey has always had an on going love relationship with Miss Chelsea.


But over the this trip he became BFF's with Chelsea's older sisters Kendra and Jenae.


We would ride the team bus to games or dinners and Trey never wanted to sit with his mommy or daddy. He always had to be by the girls. Definitely a ladies man:)




The girls are so sweet to Trey and it was nice to have a little break when they were around. I was talking with their mom Connie about when I first met their family at Curtis's senior college basketball banquet. Crazy to think that was about 7 years ago.

The girls have grown to be such sweet and beautiful young women:)

Waikiki Night Life

We were lucky that our hotel was right in the middle of downtown Waikiki. We were able to enjoy the entertaining night life of the city. All the shops and markets stay open until very late so there is ALWAYS people out and about. A lot of people bring their talents to the street for the tourists to enjoy. Music groups, break dancers, singers, magicians, etc. There is also a lot of guys that spray paint themselves and stand like statues for hours on end.

It was so nice to walk out at night and still have it be so warm.

Happy Birthday Curtis!!!

Curtis celebrated his 29th birthday on Dec 23rd while we were in Hawaii and what a great birthday it was. The Cougs beat #15 Baylor that day. Huge win for the Cougs that put them into the championship game.

That evening we were able to go out to dinner as a family to celebrate. I had a special little dessert sent to our table to surprise Curtis on his special day.

It was so nice to get to spend some quality time as a family on his birthday. Such a great day for all of us:)

Diamond Head Classic Kickoff!!!

The Cougars were playing in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic tournament along with 7 other teams. Our second day in Hawaii and the the day before the tournament started there was a banquet dinner to kick things off. The food and atmosphere were amazing.


We were then treated to a Polynesian show that told the story of Polynesian culture through song and dance. It was a very entertaining show. They even got a few players and coaches up on stage to hula dance. One of the Cougs players Marcus Capers put on quite the show.


Trey and the boys liked the hula dancing a little too much:)


It was such a fun evening and a great way to start the tournament and get everyone into the Hawaiian spirit.

So Impressed!!!

Trey and I left for Honolulu on Monday. Curt and the team were coming from Santa Clara so we met them there. I have to admit I was quite nervous about flying alone with Mr. Trey for 5 hours. But to my absolute surprise he did SO well both ways. Trey took long naps, colored, played with his play-doh, read books and watched his DVDs. I got Trey his own seat which was key to my sanity.


Everyone around us was quite impressed with how well he did. He was such flirt with the flight attendants.


We stayed with the team at the Moana SurfRider Resort. I guess it was the first hotel ever built in Waikiki back in 1901. It's often referred to as the "First Lady of Waikiki". It was perfect because it was right on the beach and right in the middle of all the shopping downtown.



The hotel had these rocking chairs in front of the resort that you could rock in and watch people walk along the strip.


The lobby was beautiful.



We were ready for some relaxation and sun:)
