Winter Wonderland

 

Well here are the pictures of my boys enjoying the snow on Christmas Eve Day. I tell you what...I have come to the conclusion that I am going to be about a month behind with all my blog posts.

 

This was the first real snow fall we had all winter. We were all pretty excited since it would be Noah's first experience in the snow. Trey couldn't wait to get outside along with his sidekick Miss Lily.

 

 

Curtis and Trey were quite the pair. I don't know who was having more fun.

 

 

 

 

 

Of course you have to make snow angels.....

 

 

Noah was just hanging out not sure what to make of all this white stuff.

 

 

He loved being able to watch big brother play in the snow but soon realized he wasn't involved in all the action.

 

 

While we were attempting to make a snowman, Noah got to get up close to the snow for the first time.

 

 

 

After the adventure in the snow, we decided to do a snowman art project. We read a cute little snowman book and talked about all the things our snowman inside needed.

 

It turned out pretty cute.

We had a wonderful time outside. It is moments like these where I can't believe how lucky we are.

 

 

 

 

 

Christmas Morning

Well the Allen Family woke up to a beautiful white Christmas this year. It started snowing pretty hard on x-mas eve day. We were able to have some family fun in the snow (post to follow). The scenery outside made Christmas seem that much more perfect.

 

 

Trey was very into Santa's arrival this year. Lots of questions for mommy and daddy to answer. We read the Polar Express before bedtime. This was a Christmas tradition I always remember while growing up. And of course we left some goodies out for Santa and his reindeer. Along with a card for the jolly old man.

 

We were planning on taking Santa pictures with the boys on Christmas Eve day since Curtis had just made it back in town. But the weather was getting so bad we decided to stay in the warm comfort of our home. 

Curtis and I worked until about 3am putting together this train set we had gotten Trey from the both of us. It literally took forever to assemble all the little pieces. Once we did finally go to bed Santa made his appearance and left way to many presents for our little rascals. 

 

We were so tired that next morning but as all you fellow parents know that doesn't stop excited little boys from waking early. We did have a wonderful morning as a family. It was fun to watch our two boys enjoy opening all their gifts. Here are some from the morning....

Hmmmm..where to begin?

After the boys opened presents from Santa, the big reveal of the train set from mommy and daddy came.

Drum Roll please....

We didn't get the biggest exciting response we were expecting but I think Mr. Trey was already so overwhelmed with all his gifts from Santa. Well that is at least what Curtis and I were telling ourselves from the hours of labor from the night before.

And the fighting begins....

Curtis and I were laughing how much life has changed. As a child you were so excited to receive gifts and now as adults/parents you are so excited for others to open their gifts. We love our boys dearly and Santa probably went overboard again but we couldn't have asked for a nicer Christmas for Trey and Noah.

Getting Into The Holiday Season

Getting the house all ready for the holiday season is always an exciting time in the Allen household. Every year I say my dear husband would keep the decorations up year-round if I let him. I was a little worried how our tree would withstand an active and determined 9 month old this year. Trey was pretty good about leaving the x-mas tree alone at this age but Noah on the other hand usually goes to whatever he is not suppose to touch. I am happy to report that the tree never took a tumble this year. Key phrase...this year.

 

We decided that we would do the majority of the decorating while Noah was having some dinner. To help restrain him from touching and putting everything in his mouth that those little hands could get a hold of.
