So his dietitian thinks he might just not be ready for this additional wean we tried. Trey is for sure doing great with tasting a variety of new foods but not taking enough volume in to maintain the calories he needs for continued growth. So until he is able to show his ability to chew and swallow with more foods back to our 5 hour night drip we go (in addition to his 4 boluses during the day).
It is so frustrating because you want him to have increase drive to eat but when the little guy won't consume enough due to his aversion you have to add the calories for him. It's hard to find that happy medium right now. But hopefully this continued confidence of his will lead to increase in volume intake with time. Please say a little prayer for the little man's courage to feel safe with his eating and drinking.
Oh Chillissa! That scripture is perfect! Just think of this as a speed bump. Baby Trey will get over this speed bump. It may not be as soon as we all want, but you will get over this speed bump. Just remember that this is all part of God's plan and he couldn't have given it to a more dedicated, passionate, determined, strong family. I will always be here no matter the distance for anything!!! <3 <3 <3
